August 11 thru September 20 – The Martin Museum of Art will concurrently feature Line & Space in Gallery I and Shifting Currents in Gallery II – Line & Space is an exhibition of drawings by Doris Schläpfer and Erin Wiersma. Doris Schläpfer was born in Switzerland and studied at the Art School in Lucerne, Switzerland and Saint Martin’s School of Art in London. Her work has been exhibited in London, Switzerland, Italy and France. Erin Wiersma teaches art at Kansas State University, and creates her paintings and drawings through a meditative process of tracing, eliminating, finding and forging drawn lines on the surface of the paper. Doris Schläpfer and Erin Wiersma will participate in a panel discussion from 4:30 to 5:30pm on Thursday, September 3 with a reception with light refreshments to follow.
